Isabelle, the graduate

I’m not a huge fan of all the ‘graduations’ that take place before a child really graduates high school.

I know, I’m kind of crabby like that.

But it sure is cute when it’s your kid up on that stage.

Wearing a graduation ‘cap’ made out of purple construction paper.

And a smile a mile wide.

Singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow like an angel.

Hand gestures and all.

And making a grown mama cry.

So glad I had this opportunity to share with y’all exactly why I do not like this kind of thing.

Crabby Mama, out.

I was just talking with people about excessive graduations last week. It does seem to be getting out of control. But Isabelle does look good, so she can be the exception.

i completely agree– when we were growing up- we had 2 graduations- 8th grade and high school- and now there’s preschool and kindergarten and who know what– super cute– yes! but kind of takes away the specialness of the REAL thing
ya know– one crabby mom to another:)

I’m with you on too many things happening at too young of an age ~ graduations, class rings, yearbooks…
BUT, she is adorable! Congratulations on your graduation Isabelle!

I guess I’m crabby with ya. Growing up we only had High School graduation. I have never even thought about having them for any of our children as we homeschool them. That being said, this year, we did have a little, in-home Kindergarten graduation for our 3 (walked across the coffee table:-) and even let our preschooler join in just for fun(our church had been talking about having one so they requested it). They are our 1st and only ones to ever have a graduation. Our 8th grader even said, “Hey the only graduation I want is the one from High School”. I just don’t get it either. But, the chocolate graduation cake sure was good:-)

Isabelle was precious! Adorable hats too.

I had particular problems with my son’s first grade “graduation” to second grade–he wasn’t even changing teachers! This year he is graduating from elementary school and I cannot say I like it now, either, but more because I just don’t want him to grow up so fast.

She does look happy and adorable!

Congrats to you Isabelle!!!! Definitely a milestone. Love your beautiful smile.

I hear ya on the graduation thing. Will was my first to “graduate” from preschool a few weeks ago. The tears were flowing by me. But not so bad I couldn’t take pics. ๐Ÿ˜‰

SO VERY SWEET!! So happy you captured this special moment to share with us!

I still remember Nick’s little graduation and when we were not giggling at the kids up there on stage we were bawling our eyes out.

I have been thinking of you and your family often…… I hope each day is getting a little easier. We will be following your journey to Poppy every step of the way.

    xoxo,

    Lisa

I can so see why you’d be crabby. Nowadays we have 15 graduations and by the time you get to high school you wanna just quit. Although, her smile does seem to be worth it ๐Ÿ™‚

hahaha I’m part of the Crabby Mom club too, and I’m not even a mom! Where I grew up we didn’t even have high school graduations! But seeing Isabelle looking so happy and so proud of herself, who can deny these adorable kids their moment to shine? So cute!! Well done Isabelle!!

Dave and I were so against these preschool and kinder graduations too. I still think they’re ridiculous BUT Kate had hers last month and we were all big balls of emotion and gush too. So, I get it. LOVe these shots…thx for sharing them.

I’m crabby about it too…although I was there early to get a front row seat last week when it was my kindergarten student with the funky hat on. I really do think the whole thing is absurd. But no one at the school asked my opinion! ha!

It IS a bit much but I’m all for celebrating as many milestones as possible, especially for those of us who have kiddos who have overcome great obstacles, rough beginnings and happily ever afters. It makes it a little bit more tolerable
