I am so not a numbers person.
My husband does all the budgeting.
And the bills.
And the taxes.
Not only do I not do well with numbers, I just really don’t like numbers.
But a few numbers? I like.
This morning, I got an email with just numbers in it.
And I positively squealed.
Updated measurements on my precious Poppy.
She is 20 months old and currently measures:
24 pounds
31.5 inches
has 12 teeth
and a 12 cm foot length
How ridiculously cute are those numbers?
To put some perspective on these numbers, I went to the growth chart calculator. You know, to get a better idea what to expect, size-wise, for the China trip. Turns out our girl is pretty good sized for a girl from southern China.
At 24 pounds, she is in the 31% for American girls.
And at 31.5″, she is in the 21% for American girls.
I was so spun up on these numbers I kept on going. I wanted to see how all my other kidlets would compare on the growth calculator.
Vivienne is 29 pounds and at 3 1/2, is in the 13%. And at an adorable 35.75″, she is in the 3%. Woot!
Shepherd is also 29 pounds at 4 1/2. He is less than 3%. And at 38″ he is less than 3%. Seriously, y’all. That boy eats cheese and butter sandwiches.
Jude is almost 5 1/2 and at 36 pounds, he is in the 9%. And at 41.5″, he is in the 10%.
Isabelle is almost 7 and at 53 pounds, is in the 64%. And, at 46.5, is taller than her older sister and in the 28%.
Sophie is almost 7 1/2 and at 48 pounds, is in the 26%. And at 46″ is in the 8%.
Dalton is 9 1/2 and at 83 pounds is in the 86%. And at 54.5″ is in the 62%.
And then there is Asher, who has been big from the get-go. He just turned 12 and at 132 pounds is in the 95%. And at 63.5″ (5′ 31/2″) he is in the 94%.
Whew. All that duly notated and saved for future reference.
I think I’m done with numbers for a while.
Movin’ on to chocolate now. Is it time to go to China yet?

I just hope they don’t have a growth chart for adults…can you imagine? I think I might be in the %120th percentile or something for weight for my age! Ha!
Very cool though….dude butter and cheese sandwiches and still a light weight. No fair ๐
Looking very forward to seeing Poppy in your arms!
Who’s going to China this time? Take Dramamine with you, whomever it is ๐ (wait, that didn’t help Asher did it?)

My Guangdong girl is 6 years 3 months and she’s 48 inches and and 54 pounds! Everyone always remarks that she’s tall. I’m sure she’ll overtake me soon. Actually, Poppy makes me think of my daughter–serious referral photos and all! I can’t wait until she’s safely in your arms. Happy Day!

Oh she’s a tiny sprite. ๐ The next numbers you need are your travel dates and consulate appt.!!! ๐

What fun numbers! They made me run my little peanut through the calculators. She is still less than 3 percent for both height and weight. Can’t wait to see Poppy in your arms!

Sweet Poppy is the same age as my sweet sister waiting in China but she is quite a bit bigger ๐ I bet Poppy is going to be just darling and fit in oh-so-perfectly…
Can’t wait to see her in your arms!

My kiddos are in the 3rd% in weight (at least Harry and Will) so I am VERY excited for you!!! those are some good numbers!!! She sounds like a healthy and thriving little girl.
I really came over here to tell you how much Kate and I LOVE our so loved t-shirts. They arrived today:) I actually forgot all about the t-shirt but they made me smile big today and we cannot wait to wear them. We will e-mail you a photo when we wear our matching shirts. I love being a part of bringing Poppy home.
Best,
Kim

I’m not into numbers either. I am way bad at math but I have to say those are some amazing numbers.

such tiny things! M is low on weight but over 90% for height.
Carla says
My Sarah, also from Nanning, at 3 and a half years of age is 26.5 pounds (I believe that is NOT on the charts) and maybe 36 inches in height…3% which the doctor was thrilled about.
Katie, Kunming/Yunnan kid, is 4 and 5/6 (yes it’s THAT important to her on the 5/6), is 31.5 pounds and 38 inches tall. I think that is solidly 3% on both height and weight. Once we passed that first year home, she’s tracked on that 3% line fairly accurately.
So it sounds like Poppy is thriving for sure! YAY!!!!

I remember when my daughter was ….from birth until around 2 years old. She was in the 95% in height and weight. It was awesome! My son has just barely been on the growth chart and he’s 4 (we go next month to see where he is for his well check up)

My Olivia is turning eight and is the height and weight of an eleven year old. Lian, a year younger, is the size of a small four year old. Crazy!-Joy
Sharon says
Poppy is almost the exact same size as John Wesley who is waiting for us in Shanghai. He will be 4 years old in a couple of weeks. Maybe he’ll like butter and cheese sandwiches too!
Got my shirt yesterday and it is 100% awe-some! Love it and can’t wait to wear it!
