I think I saw a half a smile there! I’m guessing it will probably be a long time before you catch that little girl’s smile; none of your referral pics showed her smiling. But I’m sure after being in your family and feeling the love you have for her, she’ll be smiling eventually, once it all sinks in. So glad things are going fairly well for you. You’re doing great.

Oh she is SO BEAUTIFUL! Her eyes are so soulful and say so much. I have been thinking of you as you work thorugh this transistion. Reading your posts brought the memories of those first few days with Reagan flooding back. It was so hard to see her so scared……… but little by little, she will came around. It is hard to be patient after all of the waiting, I know that feeling of just wantting to love all over her, but at the same time you don’t want to frighten her. It will all be just fine…….. take one day at a time and you will see that big beautiful smile emerge and it will melt your heart all over again!

    xoxo,

    Lisa

Gorgeous! And dare I say it, but in that 2nd photo Poppy looks slightly less scared…there is a glimmer of a relaxed look in her eyes. Keep on doing what you are doing, Stefanie!! She is scared, her world has been rocked, but in time she will realize you will meet her every need! Prayers continue!!

Your Poppy is SO stunning! And these pictures, oh WOW what a story they tell! I agree with everyone else, she does seem more relaxed in a few of the images. She is just soaking in the Momma love! What a special treat it has been to follow along your journey, I love waking up in the mornings to find a new update! We’ll continue to pray for Miss Poppy, you & Zach.

Lilah was a Guangdong girl, she also had those massive beautiful eyes, and yes, they were scared too. I don’t think nearly as scared as Poppy though, poor little sweetheart.

    Poppy is in my prayers.

beautiful photos… continuing to pray for supernatural bonding for y’all and I know it’s happening…there’s an old spiritual that I sing in my head a lot and I sang it a lot while in China in those first days, thought you might find peace in the words of that song…”trust and never doubt Jesus will surely bring you out…HE’s never failed me yet!”

I was looking back through our photos of Lydia’s adoption and wondered how a child can look so very different in just two years. I pray you will be doing the same soon, although this face is so very precious. But still, I pray Poppy will find her smile and then never forget how to use it!
