I am praying for you and your sweet Poppy. She still looks so scared. You are both so beautiful, and will grow together. I pray this is a day of miracles.
She is abosutly beautiful. I pray that her fear goes away and that knows taht you love her very very much. Lots of prayers coming your way for you and miss Poppy <3
God Bless
I love how she is resting her little chin on your shoulder. So sweet. And those pictures are wonderful. It looks like Zach can handle a camera really well! I hope he is enjoying China. Continuing to pray for each of you.
Beautiful!! Zach is doing an amazing job taking pictures! Still praying for sweet Poppy girl!!! And for endurance for you!!
Thanks so much for sharing your journey!
Stefanie, She is in shock and she is seeking comfort in you…. keep doing what your doing…. I will keep tons of prayers coming your way. The fact she is only comforted in your arms on your lap is an amazing thing! Your an awesome momma and lady! What a gift to have your son Zack there to help you! PRAYING THERE WILL BE A TURNING POINT SOON!
I think I saw a half a smile there! I’m guessing it will probably be a long time before you catch that little girl’s smile; none of your referral pics showed her smiling. But I’m sure after being in your family and feeling the love you have for her, she’ll be smiling eventually, once it all sinks in. So glad things are going fairly well for you. You’re doing great.
OH Stephanie…how precious your ittle one is. I know she is sad but as she learns to trust the transformation will be amazing. God has provided her with just the right Mommy!!!

Following along on your journey and sending prayers and well wishes to you all.
Poppy is absolutely beautiful. Hope today is a better day for her. Keep working hard-
it will come.
These took my breath away. Maybe I’m just a hopeless optimist, but I see more of a spark there today. She still looks overwhelmed, but there is a spark. You’re doing a great job, Mama! Still praying…
Oh she is SO BEAUTIFUL! Her eyes are so soulful and say so much. I have been thinking of you as you work thorugh this transistion. Reading your posts brought the memories of those first few days with Reagan flooding back. It was so hard to see her so scared……… but little by little, she will came around. It is hard to be patient after all of the waiting, I know that feeling of just wantting to love all over her, but at the same time you don’t want to frighten her. It will all be just fine…….. take one day at a time and you will see that big beautiful smile emerge and it will melt your heart all over again!
Gorgeous! And dare I say it, but in that 2nd photo Poppy looks slightly less scared…there is a glimmer of a relaxed look in her eyes. Keep on doing what you are doing, Stefanie!! She is scared, her world has been rocked, but in time she will realize you will meet her every need! Prayers continue!!
Hugs!!
Patricia
Your Poppy is SO stunning! And these pictures, oh WOW what a story they tell! I agree with everyone else, she does seem more relaxed in a few of the images. She is just soaking in the Momma love! What a special treat it has been to follow along your journey, I love waking up in the mornings to find a new update! We’ll continue to pray for Miss Poppy, you & Zach.
Lilah was a Guangdong girl, she also had those massive beautiful eyes, and yes, they were scared too. I don’t think nearly as scared as Poppy though, poor little sweetheart.
Zach – you share your mom’s gift with the lens!! And I see the spark – in the next to last picture – it’s there – now just fan it gently and soon it will burst into flame!!
beautiful photos… continuing to pray for supernatural bonding for y’all and I know it’s happening…there’s an old spiritual that I sing in my head a lot and I sang it a lot while in China in those first days, thought you might find peace in the words of that song…”trust and never doubt Jesus will surely bring you out…HE’s never failed me yet!”
Oh Stefanie,
Poppy is so clearly gripped by fear while being so worn out. She is gorgeous! I am praying against fear. Perfect LOVE casts out all fear. Come, Lord Jesus, Come… and minister to this precious treasure’s broken heart.
Praying for Poppy.
One could get so lost in her eyes, they are so expressive. I am praying that her fear will recede and she will will begin to open to you and Zach. Thanks for allowing us to share this with you.
Her eyes say so much…she is in my prayers. I know she is very scared and that will get better with time and trust.
Hang in there mamma, you are in my prayers too!
Her beautiful eyes say so much! I love that in every single picture she is in your arms. Mommy’s arms. Her safe place! Praying for you and precious Poppy as she takes in all that is happening to her….from her Mommy’s loving arms.
As everyone else has said, her eyes definitely tell the story…Praying for all of you. I also agree that Zach shares your talent with a camera…amazing pictures!
I was looking back through our photos of Lydia’s adoption and wondered how a child can look so very different in just two years. I pray you will be doing the same soon, although this face is so very precious. But still, I pray Poppy will find her smile and then never forget how to use it!
