Okay.
You probably don’t get the title of this Sunday Snapshot.
But by the end, you will.
Promise.
As you can see, Jude was the man today.
Because well… he was game. And he didn’t need a haircut. And he hadn’t spilled anything on his shirt at lunch.
Really though, that’s just kinda the way Jude rolls. Pretty much game for anything.
Even starting kindergarten at a brand new school this year – and having to get up at 5:30 in the morning – he was ready to go.
No tears. No complaining. He just jumped up on that big ol’ bus and headed off.
He loves school and is overcoming his shyness around others more all the time.
*sniff*
He was so painfully shy, y’all… I am insanely proud of him and how far he’s come.
At home though, he’s the furthest thing from shy.
Seriously.
That impish grin might have fooled some of y’all, but underneath those dimples and ruddy cheeks lies one naughty booger.
In fact, he’s the one kiddo that always has to come with me wherever I go because he’s too naughty for anyone else.
I think it’s a combination of his smarts and his charm that have helped him create a skill set that gets him into all sorts of mischief.
And really, when he smiles like that – and says stuff like, “I love you mom! You’re the best mom in the world!” even though I know he’s just yanking my chain – I just can’t seem to stay upset with him.
He’s ridiculously sweet and surprisingly gentlemanly. When properly motivated.
He just has to want to be sweet. And gentlemanly.
So really, the end of the stick you get with Jude all depends on how he feels about you.
One person he is positively crazy for is his little sister, Poppy.
Whenever she fusses, he rushes to help her.
He’s quick to pick her up and carry her – even though he outweighs her by only 10 pounds.
And even though she can walk perfectly well on her own.
Today Miss Poppy made a surprise appearance as Jude and I were out taking pictures.
Carried out by Sophie because she was missing mama.
Or maybe, she just wanted to see her adoring big brother.
Whatever the reason, Jude was quickly outnumbered by the girls.
His entire Sunday Snapshot was hijacked.
But something about that smile tells me he didn’t mind.
Not one bit.

He’s such a cutie pie…. Love his little grin…. I have one like that – not so much the naughty, cuz he’s the most compliant of the five but the charm and the smile that changes my mind every time I’m about to lay into him ๐ Thanks for the cute-dose!!!!
I love your Sunday Snapshots! Love Jude’s smile and the fact that he didn’t mind being hijacked by his sweet sisters.
Oh my word, what precious children! I love that Jude is looking out for Poppy. She seems quite smitten by him! I love the pic of Poppy, Jude and Sophie. Pictures are, indeed, worth a thousand words! Their smiles tell the tale!
Seriously….this post made me smile! our son Jude reminds me so much of my son! Such a great post!!!
He is so handsome and I gotta say I love seeing his beautiful feet all bedecked in sandals!!!!! I want to move in with you guys; the property looks beautiful
I can totally see how that lil cutie hijacked it. I feel like I don’t “know” Jude as well so I am glad to see this post all about his cuteness.
hugs,
K
Really?! There is no way that super-charming, always-smiling boy who always looks a-dor-able in every single photo you take of him is even the tiniest bit naughty! Seriously, he is one cute boy! Sounds like he is already learning to use that to his advantage (watch out world!)
All the best,
Nicole A., now in LA
I love that Jude-boy… cute dimples, impish grin, “naughty booger” and all!! Khloe has that EXACT same side to her, so maybe it’s the Gutian kid in both them?! ;o)
OXO,
Tanya
Dear Joobe – I miss you. And I love you.
Miss To-ween
These are so great.
I LOVE it, Stef!!! Jude has gotten so big and looks so grown up! WOW! You honestly could have been describing my Emmeline – one of the subjects of my Sunday Snapshot! I think he was perfectly ok with his Snapshot being overrun by his beautiful sisters!!!! He is just too cute!
Wow! Gorgeous children! Amazing photos. I love the one of Jude and Poppy. He looks so proud and she looks so incredibly joyful. It’s great to see them all growing and blossoming together. Just like in the book I sent; I think Poppy has found the garden where she can grow best! A thrill to see! Thank you for sharing.
Oh, he doesn’t look like he minded that hijacking AT ALL. ๐
Really, he’s naughty? Nah, those sweet cheeks? Never. ๐ He’s adorable….all of your kiddos are! Big and little! ๐ Happy Sunday Stef! ๐

Oh my stars! If that last photo doesn’t just melt the heart. It seriously belongs in a magazine somewhere. I’m pretty sure I would buy whatever in the world they were sellling, whether I wanted it or not. LOL Those spontaneous moments are priceless.
So handsome!! Love the hair….. You have such sweet children !
Okay I tried again and I was unable to put my link and thumb nail post here on your site. Arg…..
When I am on my site I can click on sunday Snapshot and it sends me here.
Frustrations. Even my hubby the computer wiz can’t figure out why. We were wondering if it had to do with
editing our pictures in Picnk and then back to Flickr and then posting on my blog. The linkz keeps on saying it is not a direct link. I so want to join in. Sorry ……
Have a great day!!
Jody
He is just the cutest kids Stefanie…..of course, they all are. There just seems something pretty sweet about him! ๐
Love the pics!!
Stefanie,
God has surely blessed you and your family. He is such a doll. I love how you’ve taken the time to tell us WHO he is. The pictures capture his adorable side, but it’s so nice knowing a little of his temperament and personality.
Thank you…
Awww That post brought tears to my eyes!!! My sweet daughter is just like Jude – painfully shy with strangers – yet louder than the whole household at home!!! ๐
What great pictures… they all seem to fit, don’t they?
God bless you and your beautiful family!
Your photos always bring tears to my eyes… truly, you have many gifts… but I thoroughly enjoy your gift of photography!
Take care of your special, beautiful family!
I’ve been following your blog for a while but don’t think I’ve ever left a comment. I have to say you have an absolutely beautiful family! It is amazing how God has worked in your life! Many praises to Him!
Beautiful photography too! On a side note my son has that exact same outfit! Love me some Gymboree!
