stocked

Oh, yes we are.

I tend to be a pretty laid-back girl.

But, since we’re new here and haven’t weathered a storm in this house, and I’m not quite confident that we are inland enough to miss all the affects of Irene, I caved.

I went, along with pretty much everyone on the east coast, to the grocery today.

And I shopped like a crazy person.

Water?

check.

Milk?

check.

Chips?

check.

Geesh, just looking at my cupboards makes me giggle.

With all the chips I bought, you’d think they could power a generator. Or light a room.

Or feed 8 kids for a week.

Hoping that everyone in the path of Irene has somewhere safe to go.

Over and out.

Nothing like a fully stocked pantry. I love standing in front of mine and admiring it. That’s probably weird.

    Hope you all stay safe!

When I was in college in Chapel Hill, in my first off-campus apartment, Hurricane Fran came through. Wiped out power for days. We hadn’t gone to the store, and when we finally got there, we were left with pixie sticks, pop tarts and white zinfandel. I think you made the right choice. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am with you! We are fully stocked here in NC and ready for our own little version of a hurricane party–lots of coloring and juice boxes with my little ones. I hope you all stay safe!

Stay safe! Thankfully, we only have gotten some rain and wind and rough surf down at the beach. Not any worse than your standard rainy day. That said, we’re on the extreme outer edges of this one.

I’m stocked up here in Durham, NC too. Don’t expect it to be too bad here, but I’m not taking any chances. Not after being without power for 4 days after Fran and another four days after an ice storm!

I LOVE your blog, and admire you and your hubby for what you are doing for these wonderful children. Before my granddaughter came home to us from China, I said I was going to teach her to say, Ni Hai, Y’all. When I saw your blog listed somewhere, I knew I had to check it out, and I was hooked!!!!! : )

Wherever you and your family are, please stay safe!!!!!!

I am glad you stocked up !! You never know and it would not be fun to have hungry kids if the power was out!
Praying that you are safe from the storm! Keep us posted when you can.

Wow Stephanie! I hope you guys weather the storm well there! It’s looking scary but we trust our great God who is sovereign over all things! We are just north of ATL and so not directly affected but have so many friends and family up the East Coast.

I was wondering, is there a way to email you? I realize you are so busy…we’ve just been given the file of a 1 year old little boy in China with a complex heart issue and I wanted to ask you a few questions. I’m researching {and PRAYING!!} but would love the opportunity to chat just a bit if possible.

    He makes beautiful things~

Good to be prepared. Stay safe. We in the Florida Keys were spared
this storm. It is a nasty one. Take care and enjoy your goodies!

So stocked up here too! Not really a lot of chips (sigh, I was being so good in the store and now I’m seriously regretting it!) but full pantries, full fridge, full freezer. Just made one of the best batches of chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever, ever made. Wish I knew what I did different this time.

Using the quiet, stay at home, do next to nothing because of all the rain time to catch up on all the blogs and some other reading. I see you moved already…. New England just lost TWO big, high quality families this month!!!! My sis just moved from MA and now all us sibs are in PA with only 2 hours separating us now. Big family party last night to celebrate.

Hope you are all weathering the storm well. Stay in, stay safe, and stay dry. Eat a few chips for me ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ve been in Florida looking for our new home when this all started… though safely home now. And of course, Florida was mostly passed by, but I’m sure I would be doing the same thing if I were anywhere close!! ๐Ÿ™‚
