Mission accomplished.
Just 179 more mornings to go.
Everyone was riding high on adrenaline this morning, so really things went much better than I had anticipated.
That, and the fact that I had followed y’alls advice.
And had done pretty much everything – besides put the kids on the bus – last night.
It was pretty stinkin’ dark this morning, though.
Sitting at the breakfast table and glancing outside, Sophie asked if it was still night.
And Isabelle said, “Mommy, I see the moon! It feels like night-night time!”
Jude got to sleep in for one more day… kindergarten starts tomorrow.
But the rest of the big kids, plus Miss Poppy and I, were up and at ’em.
Enjoying what was, thankfully, turning into a beautiful morning.
If all goes as I hope, we’ll eventually get adjusted to this new time.
And collapse fall into bed at 7:30 nightly.
At least, that’s what I’m telling myself today.
I was thinking of you all this morning. I said many prayers for you last night that all would go well. LOVE the count down! That cracked me up. Our first day was yesterday. The adrenaline then was much more pleasant than this mornings frowns that it had to be done all over again. Thank goodness this is a short first week! I bet you just smooched all over that cute little Poppy when everyone else was all aboard that bus! ๐
So glad the bigs got off without a hitch…I added some prayers for you last night!
What a beautiful view you have in the morning! That’s amazing! Reminds me of my “back yard.”
Glad all went well this morning. Harder some mornings than others. We have been up and at ’em for 2 weeks now. This morning no one wanted to get up (including me!). Sigh. Maybe tomorrow. ๐
Oh mornings like these are so hard on everyone! I am praying for lots of energy and fun filled days in school with lots of hugs from teachers and lots of rest for you:)
So glad things went well.
So glad things went well. It sure looks dark out still!!!!! The property looks beautiful. I can’t wait to see more
Yay! You did it! You may find you love this schedule. Mornings are a beautiful time! It sure was dark, though!
GORGEOUS photos!!! It almost makes me want to get up at 5:30 so I can take some like that. Nah. I’ll just enjoy yours. ๐ Glad you survived the first morning. It’s just so wrong to be going to school in the dark when you’re in elementary school. But apparently, no one asked my opinion.
Heehee it’s so dark out! Love the pictures of Ms Poppy with her sippy cup! & that everyone was ready and had smiles for school!
Not fun getting up at “dark-thirty” but I’m glad it went smoother than you thought!
We still have 2 weeks to go before school starts…& I’m counting THOSE days down! lol!
I had no doubt in my mind that you would handle this just fine!! Little T starts kinder on Tuesday…I’m so sad yet so excited for her! ๐
Hugs,
Carla
Aww….so cute.
I would be so tempted to go back to bed after they leave. ๐
SO glad the send-off went well! We don’t start school until the 7th……and I hate to even say it, but my elementary kids catch the bus at 8:45!
I can’t wait to see more of your house and yard. It looks positively amazing!
I hope all the kiddos had a great 1st day! Looks like you have a trade off there…. though you have to get the kids up really early to go to school, you also get to turn around to see beautiful property and a gorgeous house!! More pictures, please!! ๐
Oh, it *is* dark. And it’s going to continue to get darker. Yikes! And where’s Miss Vivi? Did she decide to sleep in, too?
Isn’t it crazy to see the days getting shorter already!?! Hope their first day went great! Love the photos and little Miss P with her sippy cup! I just love the land there… it is so beautiful around your property!
Very sweet of Poppy to be up to say Bye Bye to her siblings!!! Well, this morning girl would love to be up staring at your gorgeous property.. I think you need a horse….. or multiple horses…. It looks awesome!!!!
Happy Back To School! I hope they all had a fabulous first day!!!!!
Hugs,
Diana
Beautiful morning of your yard, and even more so of your kiddos!
And Poppy seeing off her siblings on their first day of school, she is precious.
I had to laugh b/c it looks like the inside the bus is lighter than outside, crazy!
How are you doing mama?
Well, it is about 6:45 now…..45 minutes until bedtime. ๐ I know you’ll figure it out and then model it for the rest of us. Hang in there.
So glad it went easier than you thought! It will just take some practice and adjustment on everyones part.
I am already working with princess on waking up at 7 so we can get her to school by 9. She is a slug when it comes to moving out of bed…. and did I mention a little grumpy. So hopefully next Weds. she will have adjusted and it will not be as hard for her. You have some beautiful kids!
Hugs,
Jody
Love the fog in the pasture!!
whoa…wait til mid winter…it is going to be pitch black at bus time! you will have to bring a big flash to the bus stop for pics!
The Tongginator is sound asleep every night before 8:00. You get used to it.
Hang in there! ๐ Your new surroundings are beautiful!
