first day of school

Mission accomplished.

Just 179 more mornings to go.

Everyone was riding high on adrenaline this morning, so really things went much better than I had anticipated.

That, and the fact that I had followed y’alls advice.

And had done pretty much everything – besides put the kids on the bus – last night.

It was pretty stinkin’ dark this morning, though.

Sitting at the breakfast table and glancing outside, Sophie asked if it was still night.

And Isabelle said, “Mommy, I see the moon! It feels like night-night time!”

Oh yes it does, sweet girl.

Jude got to sleep in for one more day… kindergarten starts tomorrow.

But the rest of the big kids, plus Miss Poppy and I, were up and at ’em.

Enjoying what was, thankfully, turning into a beautiful morning.

If all goes as I hope, we’ll eventually get adjusted to this new time.

And collapse fall into bed at 7:30 nightly.

At least, that’s what I’m telling myself today.

I was thinking of you all this morning. I said many prayers for you last night that all would go well. LOVE the count down! That cracked me up. Our first day was yesterday. The adrenaline then was much more pleasant than this mornings frowns that it had to be done all over again. Thank goodness this is a short first week! I bet you just smooched all over that cute little Poppy when everyone else was all aboard that bus! ๐Ÿ™‚

What a beautiful view you have in the morning! That’s amazing! Reminds me of my “back yard.”

Glad all went well this morning. Harder some mornings than others. We have been up and at ’em for 2 weeks now. This morning no one wanted to get up (including me!). Sigh. Maybe tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

GORGEOUS photos!!! It almost makes me want to get up at 5:30 so I can take some like that. Nah. I’ll just enjoy yours. ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad you survived the first morning. It’s just so wrong to be going to school in the dark when you’re in elementary school. But apparently, no one asked my opinion.

SO glad the send-off went well! We don’t start school until the 7th……and I hate to even say it, but my elementary kids catch the bus at 8:45!

I can’t wait to see more of your house and yard. It looks positively amazing!

Beautiful morning of your yard, and even more so of your kiddos!
And Poppy seeing off her siblings on their first day of school, she is precious.
I had to laugh b/c it looks like the inside the bus is lighter than outside, crazy!
    How are you doing mama?

So glad it went easier than you thought! It will just take some practice and adjustment on everyones part.
I am already working with princess on waking up at 7 so we can get her to school by 9. She is a slug when it comes to moving out of bed…. and did I mention a little grumpy. So hopefully next Weds. she will have adjusted and it will not be as hard for her. You have some beautiful kids!
    Hugs,
