Sunday Snapshot: {home sweet home}

Finally got around to sharing some pictures of our new place.

The place that – to me – is so ridiculously dreamy, it has inspired some moments of feeling not-quite-worthy.

I mean, we prayed to find the right house when we moved here. But I didn’t even dare to dream this big.

Sometimes it honestly takes my breath away… I just love it here so much. It is a daily reminder of God’s goodness.

The house is very old, and has all the trimmings: hardwoods, crown molding. Stunning workmanship everywhere.

And window after window. After window.

God totally hooked us up.

The kitchen has beautiful old brick floors. A farmhouse sink.

And 100 year old cabinetry.

And, possibly even more wonderful, a laundry room. Dreamy, indeed.

There’s a snuggly room off the kitchen for the kids to play.

A back porch for everyone to get their fill of fresh air.

And a total of six fireplaces, even in the bedrooms.

Only Vivenne’s room and the master bedroom are participating in Sunday Snapshot today – the other bedrooms just weren’t up to having their picture taken.

But they do send their regards.

Honestly, we could have never afforded to buy a place like this.

But God worked it out that we didn’t have to.

We are able to rent this house for just a few hundred dollars more per month than the amount we get for rent on our house in New England.

Even though this house was on the market for three times the amount ours was.

Not quite sure how the math works on that one.

But I guess I really don’t need to understand it.

Because God does.

So for now until the time we have to leave,

We are going to enjoy it – and thank God for it – every single day.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! – Matthew 7:11

I hope you get to stay a LONG time, because Girl ~ you ARE worthy and you DO deserve it! I’m so glad God blessed you with this wonderful place for this season of your life, and I hope it’s one of those ‘extended seasons’ so you can wake up every day surrounded by all that history and beauty! And I sure hope you are enjoying having a horse again!! Not only is the inside of this home stunning, but the outside is gorgeous, as well!

God bless you and your family, Steph! I can’ t WAIT to see photos of your first holidays in this magazine-worthy home! 🙂

I love the details. Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. How old is the house? We found a gorgeous Dutch Colonial house in Seattle built in 1916 that rents for a fraction of what I’m sure it would cost to buy. There’s little hope it’ll still be available in 8 months when we move, but who knows?

Thanks, Kristi 🙂 We got them in China! Bought them as a set of watercolors (very inexpensively, I might add ;)) when we were there for Isabelle and finally had them framed a few years ago. They are of the “Four Beauties”, each representing a different season… we love them too!
