an old dog

… trying to learn a few new tricks.

That’s me.

I’m taking a photography class.

And I am realizing more and more how very much I have to learn.

Oy.

But I’m nothing if not game for learning something new.

Just hope the kids, and the dog, can tolerate me.

Because I’ve got a photography ‘assignment’ to do this week. And next week. And the next week.

And it’s going to take lots of cooperation, lots of forethought, and, I’m guessing, lots and lots of chocolate.

Seriously, Stef?! Which class are you taking? It must be one of Lisa’s advanced classes, because I’ve always thought you were already a pro!! I’m currently taking her ‘get out of auto’ class that she blessed me with, too. I’m SO excited and loving every minute of learning from the best!! She is a great teacher and so patient. Thanks for the reminder that I need to get kick’in on my homework assignment, too!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

…and sweet Jude, what a HANDSOME little man and a great subject for your homework!! I will always look at him as Khloe’s fellow Gutian ‘brother’ …he is just so sweet!

    Hugs,
    Tanya

    Hi Stefani!

I didn’s realize we were in the class together! Cool!! Haven’t we already learned a ton?!! Many…ok most of my pics are still blurry but at least I have an idea how to make them better. You’re so right, lots of practice needed on my part too. Your photos are gorgeous!

Now…offf to find someone willing to be my ‘someone sitting still’ model as my energetic 2yo just doens’t work for that assignment. :o)

WHAT? Listen – just don’t let the class and training ruin your vision thru the lens!! It was “requested and required” that I take several weeks of training in photo surveillance and crime scene photograhy. Well – OK – I can get a pic of a license plate in the dark at 100 meters, or a shot of a cartridge casing under a car on a bright sunny day – but now every picture I take looks more like a clinical study than a photo of something cool! Ruined me for life….

And screwed up a perfectly good hobby….of course back in the day when a dark room was really dark and you had to use chemicals – not a computer! ๐Ÿ˜‰

hugs – I think your shots here are great – you also have some talent with LR!!

Your pictures are already beautiful! I can’t imagine what there is to improve on, but I hope you have fun learning. (I find the Hershey’s miniature candies are perfect for bribery, just saying ๐Ÿ˜‰

That is funny! Yes, you will need a lot of chocolate. At least you should have lots of Halloween candy left over, right? Really, I’ve found the dog so much easier to take photos of. ๐Ÿ˜‰

How great that you’re taking a class…though you already have a fabulous natural eye!! I continue to take classes and learn, I think photography is a lifelong journey. Can’t wait to see more, Stefanie!!
You have some adorable subjects btw!!

Okay, you just may inspire me to really start learning what my sweet Canon can do.
Great photos though, and I always have thought that yours were good. Luckily you have lots of subjects to choose from, so even when some get weary, you can turn the lens on someone else. Also pretty handy that there was just a whole lot of chocolate… Good timing!

At least you have plenty of kids to go through before you run out of subjects. With just two, it does not allow for much variety of subject and when they decide to be uncooperative, well it’s just over!!! Looking forward to seeing your blossoms in a variety of new and exciting ways!

Cool! Let me know if you like your class because I am wanting to take one, too, but having a hard time deciding on the teacher. I love your photography and think it’s great that you are going to be even better after your class!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hmmm…would that chocolate be for the kids…or, you?!?!? hahahahah!,,,I heard you say, “BOTH!” very emphatically!
I agree with everyone else, your photos are already beautiful, but I am hoping that you will enjoy every moment.
