I don’t usually get things done early.
In fact, most times, I’m not even on time.
But this year, trimming the tree came early.
Early being a completely relative term.
Victoria had to leave in the evening which meant we had a long afternoon to find a tree, bring it home and decorate like crazy.
And that’s exactly what we did.
The option, waiting to decorate the tree and missing the chance to have all the kids there to participate, just paled in comparison.
So the tree crew was dispensed.
An unsuspecting tree was selected, purchased and brought home.
The Christmas decorations came out.
And the lights and ornaments went up.
The kids were in the zone, I tell ya.
I don’t think I even put a finger on one macaroni ornament, the kids were so focused.
Tori stood at the ready as the tree was decorated furiously, lest it all topple over from an overabundance of ornaments placed about knee level.
What our littlest lack in spacial reasoning they make up for in enthusiasm.
And so, this year, we have successfully trimmed our tree.
Decked our halls.
Now I just have baking, shopping, and wrapping left to do.

Lucky for you that Tori was supporting your tree! Ours also almost toppled under the “uneven distribution” of ornaments on the lower two feet. 🙂
Like you, I have cookie baking, card creating (and addressing), shopping and wrapping left to do. But there is something about the serenity of sitting by the glow of a beautiful tree in the evenings.
Glad you got to squeeze it in while all of your kiddos were home!
so happy to see you have all your babies home!
I love these photos. Looks like they had a great time.
How special that all your kiddos could be there to decorate the tree together. With all those little elves, I’m sure your tree was decorated lickety split. How fun.
Thanks for the photos! Every day, I mean, every day…… my daughter asks if the “pretty girl with the red lipstick” is on the computer. She means Victoria! She is in love with Victoria and just beams when she sees her blonde hair and red lipstick. I think Santa just may have to leave her some in her stocking……… Blessings!!
