I didn’t get it done. The weather simply has refused to cooperate with my plans to get a Sunday Snapshot of the birthday boy.
But I’m not giving up.
For now, since the weather still doesn’t look like it’s going to cooperate, I must move on.
School is out. And as I’ve done in years past, I’m doing a quick recap of the school year. Because anything I want to remember, I’d better write down.
I don’t have a first day photo of him. They staggered the kindergarteners first day of school, so Jude got to sleep in. I did do a post about the little man just a few days later. And boy, has he changed.
He is 43 1/2″ and 40 pounds. He’s grown 2″ and gained 4 pounds in the last year.
His favorite thing about kindergarten? Playing with the blocks.
What did he learn? To write some words and stuff.
What is he most excited about doing this summer? Playing outside and riding my bike.
She is 48″ and 51 pounds. She has grown 1 1/2″ and actually lost 2 pounds in the last year.
Her favorite thing about 1st grade? I liked to learn to read books. And read my homework.
What did she learn? I learned to help people when they get hurt.
What is she most excited about doing this summer? Going to the beach or the swimming pool.
P.S. I have to do a separate post about just how much progress Isabelle made this year. The kind of progress that made me and her teachers cry.
She is 48″ and 50 pounds. She has grown 2″ and has gained 2 pounds in the last year.
Her favorite thing about 2nd grade? When we had a Witch’s Brew. It was at Halloween and we used gummy worms for earth worms.
What did she learn? Regrouping. First you would do math problems and then put lines down and then across. And then if there was a smaller number on the top, you’d have to borrow a ten from the number before it.
What is she most excited about doing this summer? Going to the neighbors and swimming in their lake.
He is 56 1/2″ and 87 pounds. He has grown 2″ and has gained 4 pounds in the last year.
His favorite thing about 4th grade? Making a lot of new friends.
What did he learn? Algebra. And how to multiply and divide big numbers.
What is he most excited about doing this summer? Playing basketball with my new basketball hoop.
I’m not quite sure I’m ready for summer, but evidently summer is ready for us.
I’ve got the sprinkler, a jumbo-sized box of Goldfish and a freezer stocked with popsicles.
Bring it on.
Wishing your bunch a WONDERFUL SUMMER!!
Love these! What a precious group of kiddos!
Beautiful!
Isn’t it amazing how much they change when you look back. I love our beginning and ending pics!
I love this idea…….may have to borrow. Sounds like you are ready for summer…..ENJOY!
Happy Summer to the So Loved gang!! 😉 Your children are growing by leaps and bounds. It is a wonderful blessing to be able to share in that!! A safe and happy summer to you all!! God Bless!!!
Amazing to see how they change in one school year. Sweet babies getting bigger!
oooh, i think dalton has changed the most with sophie in 2nd place. can;t wait to hear about isabelle’s progress!
Wow~ what a difference a year makes~ the girls hair sure did grow. LOVE that you recorded this for them. EK had a great year in K too~ I am planning homeschool them all this year and excited about it. Beautiful children!!! Blessings this summer!!! XO
Aww, look at them. You are so blessed, Stefanie. 🙂 Have lots of fun this summer!
They all are very adorable, and I like that idea of picture on the first day of school, and last day of school!
Wow – they are all great looking kids and doing so well. Isabelle looks like she has gained confidence this year. Thanks too for putting weight and height. I am concerned often about M’s weight and height (the nurse says she is square-same height as weight) but it helps to have a chinese adopted frame of reference. She is still tiny, but only about 2 inches shorter than Sophie who is 6 mos. older and they are from the same area / SWI. She is a stick who eats quite a bit and weighs about 48lbs. Its the last day of school today and hard to say goodbye to the absolutely wonderful and supportive teacher M has had this year.
I can’t believe how much they grew! : ) I love their smiles. Those end of the year smiles are the best kind, right? : ) I am a terrible Mom because I don’t even know how tall my baby was on the first day (or the last!) I will measure him today. I used to make marks on the door frame, but then we moved. Darn it! I hope your summer is all kinds of fantastic.
LOVE your way of chronicaling their yearly progress…I believe I will have to “steal” it for the coming years in our family.
