Sunday Snapshot: {fall}

I’m knee deep in another photography course. And I am loving it. I’m so grateful for the ‘push’ it gives me to get out there and shoot, especially this time of year when I’d sorta rather curl up on the couch with a big mug of tea.

Our theme for the month, to be interpreted any way we want, is fall. I sort of had a vision for how I wanted this shoot to go, and my best bet for making it happen was my biggest girl.

Thankfully, she was up for it.

These were taken at about five in the afternoon in the same open field where I took pictures of Poppy at sunset.

I used my Nikon D90 and 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. My settings for the first one were ISO 200 f/2.8 1/250 28mm. I edited them all in CS6 with Florabella Classic Workflow actions. I used Classic Color, Rich Autumn and Add Some Drama. And some other stuff. I also played around with a light overlay and some blur, thanks to some post-processing ideas Lisa gave me.

If you want to play along, the rules have changed. Visit here for the full scoop.

    Beautiful pictures of a beautiful daughter! My favorite is the first picture where the light falls behind her – such a light atmosphere around her!

    Wow these are beautiful! I had actually thought about something similar with my girls. Now I am even more inspired. Now if I can only find a setting like that.

    I cannot begin to tell you how that first shot took my breath away. I love every one of them…but that shot….SWOON….I literally gasped. I’ve always loved your photography but, Sista….you’re a PRO now! Don’t forget us little people when you’re all rich and famous, now….will ya?

    (and clearly your baby girl needs her own security detail to follow her around! WOW!)

    xoxo
