I think I might…

enter this photo contest.

In the interest of stretching myself, photographically speaking.

Especially because they have an amateur division.

Problem is, I have no idea what picture to submit. You can only submit one, and well, as y’all know… that’s pretty much impossible for me.

So, I’m asking for your help.

Here are a few that I thought might be a possibility. For today, I’m probably most fond of the black and white of Poppy – thanks to the re-edit Laura did for me (thanks, Laura!).

But I’d love to hear from y’all if any of these, or one I’ve posted in the past, would get your vote.

This stretching stuff just can’t be easy, can it?

P.S. They’re giving away some cool prizes… y’all should consider entering the contest, too (thanks Jess, for the heads-up)!

All three are so beautiful but I have to agree with you…the one of Poppy just grabs me. Those eyes and her lips! Good luck!

I’m partial to the top one of the bridge. The composition draws you in…….All are very nice though….
The kids are easy, half the job is done for you when the kids are so beautiful…….

I think you should do it BUT I also love them all! I’d see who is hosting the contest and if they are looking for babies- then go with one of the girls pic but if not the bridge is awesome! I know… Im not help at all!

Okay- I am thinking bout getting into photography but I’m scared and I know I’ll be bad – BUT if I don’t try I will never know! AND I need to have FUN with it and not compare myself to others! After our Katie’s wedding and her move to germany I will need something to take my mind off her being gone…. ;-(

You should definitely enter. May I suggest the third photo… it’s very intense. And beautiful. And deep. GOOD LUCK!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

And if you don’t mind a little piece of advice, maybe ‘erase’ the contrast from the bottom of the photo, you know, so her skirt/pants don’t look so very dark and draw attention from her face. I do that often, on the contrast layer, I erase the contrast from some areas. I did so in the first photo, here.

I love all the pictures….but I’m going to suggest one that you posted a few times back, on your “one thing” post about facebook. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that cover picture…or whatever it is called. So much so that I almost e-mailed you and asked you what you did in Lightroom to it. It is so beautiful. I think it is one of my all time favorites. ๐Ÿ™‚

The bridge. It’s romantic and mysterious. The pic of Poppy is adorable, but I think the bridge is more original.

    Just a stunning photo.

The 1st one would be my pick for a photo contest. But of the 3 Tallula’s my favorite. Doesn’t make any sense but that’s my opinion.

Okay, I do not know ONE THING about photography…..
I tend to like color. The first bridge photo is beautiful. The black and white photo of Poppy shoes how incredibly gorgeous she is. BUT the photo of Tallula is my favorite. It is one of the cutest pics I’ve ever seen. It shows her personality!
As far as past photos go….
I love the one where Tallula has her head down on the stool, the one showing Victoria’s beautiful blue eyes, and the one of Chris getting soaked at his final flight ceremony.

in my humble opinion.. the black & white, # 10,, 16, or 18. Of course any of your photos are bound to win.. but I think those are the most “emotional” to an eye that don’t “know” you. To any of us.. we have an already emotional connection so the other photos have connectablilty. Go for it babe!! You have it in the bag!

Wow, this is hard…the photo of Poppy is adored in color, you then shared it in black and white….even more eye catching!!! I didn’t think that could be possible, but it happened. So 1st choice-photo of Poppy. 2nd choice- bridge, I find it captivating. Good luck!

I’m going to be even less help, and say the last photo from the Sunday Snapshot series of Poppy, the one where she is lying down looking to the side.

I love the three you posted, because I know their stories. I know the bridge is in Tallula’s hometown, I know to think “Wow, she’s only JUST been adopted and look how vibrant she is”. But judges in a competition don’t know that.

The photo of Poppy looking to the side makes me want to know what she is thinking, it makes me want to know what she is looking at, and it still captures all the deep soul she has. That would be my pick for judges who don’t know any background story.

I do love that one of Poppy, but I have always REALLY loved the bridge one too. I so wish I could get a print of it. It’s just stunning to me and it captures China in a special way. But I am sure any of these three would be great! Your photos are just wonderful to me.
