he rocked it

he rocked it

Just a quick post to let those of you who were praying for Jude (and for me!) today know that those prayers were answered. In a big way. Our boy had the most incredible day. More tomorrow. Because I took about 147 pictures. And y’all know I can’t keep this good stuff to myself.

a red letter day

a red letter day

Today was another trip to Boston Children’s. This time for all three of our littlest. It was just a re-check for Jude, Shepherd and Vivienne… since they all have corrected clubfoot. They are followed by a great orthopedic surgeon at Boston Children’s, and we expected today to be a regular check-up. But it wasn’t. Jude was officially released from his… Read More

Sunday Snapshot: {Jude}

Sunday Snapshot: {Jude}

I know. It’s a cardinal sin of photography to take pictures in the bright sunlight. But with a background like this, I couldn’t resist. My sweet Jude? He just stood there for me. And then he got the sneezes. Every time he gets in bright sunlight, he sneezes. Something about that just makes me love this boy even more. He… Read More

a little story

a little story

First, allow me to set the scene. I’m typing away at my computer desk, blissfully unaware of what’s going on around me. Jude is working a puzzle on the floor behind me. Our devoted dogs are, as usual, at my feet. Or as close to my feet as they can possibly get. Then, sadly, the silence is broken. With some… Read More

how he does it

how he does it

You might have noticed, but I’ll go ahead and admit it. I’m pretty darn crazy about Jude. And I don’t care who knows it. Something about that tiny dimple just makes my knees go weak. And the way his eyes curl up at the sides? Let’s just say I find it challenging to tell him “no”. Ever. In my defense,… Read More

something in the fries

something in the fries

Maybe we were all feeling crazy because it was Jude’s ‘big day’. Or maybe because it was Friday night. And the weekend was here. But, I really think it was the fries. Photo and video editing at www.OneTrueMedia.com We celebrated Jude’s fourth birthday in his favorite spot on the planet: McD’s. Eating his favorite food on the planet: fries. And… Read More

the pillow

the pillow

A very special package arrived. It might have been addressed to me, but inside was all Jude. He’d been waiting for this day for weeks. The day his new pillow would arrive. I’d intended to hold out and not tell him until it was delivered, but I didn’t. I cratered when he was heartbroken over the condition of his old,… Read More

I got nothin’

I got nothin’

Yesterday was a Monday. And it definitely felt like a Monday. Doctor appointment. Dentist appointment. Sick kids. Yuk. Somehow, Monday spilled into today. So now my Tuesday feels like a Monday. Veterinary appointments. Lyme disease. Times two. Yuk. So, really, I’ve got nothin’. At least, nothin’ I want to talk about. So when Isabelle dug up her bubba teeth from… Read More

Sunday Snapshot: Jude

Sunday Snapshot: Jude

Jude doesn’t like to be cornered. So I knew my efforts to capture him for this Sunday Snapshot post would have to be cunning. Fast. And in his own element. So I took him to the playroom. And he was happy. Jude came home at 19 months, in the summer of 2007. It took he and I about three weeks… Read More

change of heart

change of heart

I could positively, absolutely, drown in this boy’s eyes. Can someone tell me why most people who adopt from China prefer girls? It’s a rhetorical question, of course. I know the answer, because I once was ‘most people’. I’m so grateful God changed my heart.
