My mom, known as G.G. around here, is in town. So a quick photo shoot was in order. I took these with my Nikon D90 and my new lens, a 24-70mm f/2.8. My settings were ISO 800, 34mm, f/2.8, 1/160. I edited these in CS6 with Florabella Classic Color and Rosy Cream. If you’re ready to play along, here’s a… Read More
dress up. with a twist.
Today, the girls played a little dress up. Except, not your ordinary dress up. These girls love to dress up in Build-A-Bear clothes. With a propensity toward those of the boy variety. Amazingly, Poppy can manage to squeeze into some. That’s a Build-A-Bear jacket she’s rockin’. Not so much for Miss Tallula. But she doesn’t seem to mind. Hope you’re… Read More
our other neighbors
I’ve shared with y’all about our next door neighbors. We love ’em. Recently we’ve been able to spend some time hanging out with our other neighbors. And, well… they’re pretty awesome, too. He’s a horse-lover. She’s got a coop full of chickens. They both love Jesus. And they have a lake. In their back yard. Their back yard being approximately… Read More
Poppy at sunset, continued.
I shared one of the pictures from Miss Poppy at sunset a few days ago. But I wanted to share my other favorites. Do you have a favorite? For more fun with Friday Favorites, visit my friend Lisa’s blog, The Long Road to China.
no reason
Just because they can make an old hat and a broken pair of cheap sunglasses look so darn cute. The end.
Sunday Snapshot: {these two}
It was just a regular moment. On a regular day. Poppy asked me to put her hair in pig tails. And I obliged. Tallula heard all the commotion and had to get into the fray. Of course. And silliness and giggles ensued. Just an ordinary moment. In an ordinary day. Made not-so-ordinary. Compliments of these two. These were taken with… Read More
a girl and her dog.
If my husband knew what was going on, he’d be jealous. You see, Poppy has a new man in her life. She’s kept it on the down-low, though. In fact, it was just today that I fully recognized just how crazy about Seamus Poppy actually is. When I found her singing to him. The only word I could make out… Read More
the band-aid
We go through a lot of band-aids around here. Usually they end up on a knee. Or maybe an elbow. But occasionally – to make the boo-boo feel better – we have to put a band-aid in an unusual spot. And then we laugh. And take pictures. And pray that it comes off… sooner rather than later. Ahhh. Much better.
progress. beautiful progress.
Bringing Tallula home has, in a lot of ways, been difficult for Poppy. Although it didn’t show up all the time, every day, she just hasn’t been her usual smiley, happy-go-lucky self. She’s been occasionally broody. And serious. And kinda-sorta ticked off. And she let me know, sister or not, that she wasn’t very happy with me for bringing this… Read More
Sunday Snapshot: {those eyes}
Surprise. This Snapshot is all about Poppy. And I have a good reason. My goal is to improve my photography skills, and so I’ll need to try new things regularly in my picture-taking. I also want to focus on those things I want to be able to do with my camera, but can’t. And one thing I find myself regularly… Read More
